Monetary Donations
United Way Designation: It's that time of the year again!! The Washtenaw County United Way designation for POWER Inc is #1256, however if you are working out of the Washtenaw County Area and would like to designate POWER for your charitable contribution "Washtenaw County United Way/POWER Inc." must be written on the "D1" designation form. In these difficult financial times, we, like most non profit, human service agencies struggle to find resources to fund our programs and services. Please consider POWER when you are making decisions about needy families in our community.

Adopt A Family: You can donate money, gift certificates for food, clothing, school supplies, household items, etc. to a family in need through our Adopt a Family program. Simply send a check, money order or gift certificate to the address below.

Non-Monetary Donations
Because of limited office space POWER does not accept food, clothing or furniture donations directly. However our clients are in constant need various things from clothing to food to small appliances and furniture. Here is a list of things both clients and POWER as an agency are in need of:

If you have non perishable food, clothing, furniture or other items of that nature you would like to donate, please contact our agency and we will try to connect you with a client who may be in need. If we do not currently have a client in need of your particular donation, you can contact the following agencies in regard to your donation request:

Donate your car, regardless of condition, to Charity Motors, a car-donation program that offers vehicle donors a tax deduction and a choice of what charity to send. Donate your car and choose POWER as your favorite charity to receive the proceeds. You can also receive a tax deduction for the blue book value of the car because your donation will benefit low-income families. Call (313) 255-1000 to arrange a donation.
