POWER Inc is contracted through Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) to administer Home Choice Vouchers rental assistance for Washtenaw and Wayne Counties. Our mission in correspondence with the Department of Housing and Urban Development is to promote adequate and affordable housing, economic opportunity and a suitable living environment free from discrimination

Program Description
Program Description: POWER Inc. administers over 300 Housing Choice Vouchers for income eligible families, seniors and disabled households in Wayne and Washtenaw County. Our clients are assisted by MSHDA in paying a portion of their monthly rent. Program participants normally pay no more than 30% of monthly adjusted income towards rent and utilities. MSHDA subsidizes the balance of the rent to the property owner. A waiting list is maintain of applicants per county at this time applications are not being accepted for the HCV Program. Clients are free to choose any house or apartment as long as it meets certain requirements for housing quality and affordability.
